Season of Ubuntu
a quality that includes the essential human virtues; compassion and humanity.
The Season of Ubuntu comes from Gandhi’s belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity.
We are delving deep into humanity this season and looking for the good in all and how to illuminate and connect with that. We will explore causes of social justice in your home, city, country and world and find ways that our art can help elevate the good that is in all of humanity. Join us this season to celebrate our world and to shine a line in your art on all the good in it.

Season of Ubuntu Journal
This season we want to challenge you to create tiny! Use a small journal, it can be small to you or truly small – like 1 inch. Maybe you do a series of tiny journals or work only on 4 pages the WHOLE season. What tiny means is up to you. We want to challenge you to rethink how you interact with your journals by making them smaller and putting new constraints on your art. You may be surprised at how much you like working small, it can make your pages be finished quickly and can challenge you to use every dash and dot with a purpose.
our first member only class
Details, layers and marks can elevate your art journaling to the next level. Mark making can be an instinctive and natural way to add more layers and interest to your art. In Messy Marks, you will be shown how to expand your idea of mark making and will learn to rely on your intuition to create them. In this course, you’ll learn how to create interesting and vibrant marks in your art journal with a variety of tools and techniques.. We will cover different types of marks, embracing intuitive creativity, and how to layer marks in a cohesive way. Create beautiful layers of details with various supplies such as paint, markers, pens and unconventional supplies. The course is full of real time video instruction demonstrating each technique.
This course is included in your Get Messy membership! All members will have access to the full course (starting on October 7) for the lifetime of their membership!
Meet our guest artist
Brought up from a long line of artists in California, Kellee Wynne Conrad lived with art as part of her daily life playing in sculpture gardens and running through artists’ studios. Now settled in Maryland with her husband and three boys, Kellee has dedicating herself to the creative process, revealing complex layers of paint and emotion in her work. From showing locally in Maryland and being represented by national retailer, Maine Cottage, to being curated into an international exhibit in Chelsea, NYC and winning Signature Membership with the International Society of Acrylic Painters, she has found opportunity at every turn. But it was only after the experience of focusing intently on her own art in a ten month residency in Baltimore that Kellee realized she thrives best when working with others. Kellee has had the opportunity of working with Maryland Federation of Art as their off-site exhibits coordinator, creating original exhibits with West Annapolis Artworks and running exciting new programs for emerging artists, which have led her to finally fulfill her vision of an art education program. 2017 brought the birth of Color Crush Creative, a thriving, internationally followed online community of color loving artists. It is through this program that Kellee has been able to connect with the hearts and souls of artists around the world, discovering that teaching her love of color and paint is her true calling.
Kellee Wynne Conrad is the creator of Color Crush Creative, a thriving, internationally followed Instagram community of color loving artists and the online membership program, True Colors. It is through this program that she has been able to connect with the hearts and souls of artists around the world. Kellee believes that there is magic inherent in living a creative life and her true purpose is to bring that magic back in order to share it with those who are longing to realize their creative purpose.
